How to choose the most suitable high-speed sram chip model

SRAM,also known as static random access memory,uses a six-transistor(6T)latch structure to store data.Because this design does not need an external refresh circuit,as long as the power is kept on,the data can be stored stably.Different from dynamic RAM,SRAM is designed by separating address lines from data lines,which can randomly read the data of any memory cell with very fast reading and writing speed,so it is often used in high-speed scenes such as cache.

 
When we choose SRAM model,we need to consider many factors such as power limitation,bandwidth demand,storage density and read-write operation mode.At present,SRAM on the market can be roughly divided into synchronous type and asynchronous type,which can meet the market demand of different application fields.Synchronous SRAM uses input clock to coordinate all memory operations,including reading and writing,chip selection and other tasks,and is suitable for working with high-speed clock system.The asynchronous SRAM has no clock input,so it needs to monitor the instructions of the controller in real time.Once the command is recognized,it will be executed immediately,with fast response and relatively simple control program.

 
In the specific selection,you can choose according to the following points:
①SRAM is generally the best choice if the pursuit of extreme reading and writing speed(such as CPU cache)or extremely low requirements for static power consumption(such as power supply equipment).
②If it is used as a single chip microcomputer to expand memory,asynchronous SRAM will be considered first,with emphasis on storage capacity,working standard voltage and speed parameters.
③If it is used as high-speed data buffer in FPGA,synchronous SRAM,such as ZBT(Zero Bus Flip),should be considered,and its performance should be analyzed according to the actual requirements of system bandwidth.
④If high-speed access is needed and data is not lost after power failure,non-volatile SRAM can be selected,including battery backup or iBRAM with integrated non-volatile storage.
